Location: Bocas Del Toro, is the name of the capital city of Bocas Del Toro province of Panama. Bocas Del Toro is a wonderful city located on Colon Island which is again situated in the Bocas Del Toro province. The city is home to some of the famous tourist resorts. There are many small towns and the city consists of many small islands. The city has an extension of 8,745 kilometers and there are 9 major islands that make up the city.
Weather: A tropical kind of climate is experienced in Bocas Del Toro. The city has a warm temperature throughout the year and there is maximum humidity. The hottest months in Bocas Del Toro are from January to April. However, there is consistent amount of rainfall throughout the year due to its proximity to the Caribbean Sea. There is minimum amount of rainfall during the months of Febraury, March, September, October and August. The average temperature during the summer season is 35 degrees Celsius and during the winter months is 25 degrees Celsius.
Population: According to a recent survey Bocas Del Toro has a total population of about 89,300 people. The majority of the populations are the Panamas and they have inhabited here from quite a long time. However, there are many other minority inhabitants and some of them include Spanish, Americans, British and French.
Transportation: As Bocas Del Toro is a city made up of many islands, there are not many roads and the bulk of the public transportation is done through waterways. It can be visited by either air or by boat from Costa Rica and many other Panama cities. There are many boat taxis operating successfully throughout the city and visitors can hire private boats as well. There are also many ferries operating effectively in and around the city. Taxi 25 and Bocas marine tour are the name of two private water transportation companies providing effective transportation to its visitors.
Economy: The economy of Bocas Del Toro is improving as the tourism industry in the area is making maximum profits. Moreover, there is wide scale plantation of oro verde which is commonly known as the green gold in Central America. Many new tourist resorts and hotels have been constructed and the city is becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in Central America.
Festival and the people: The inhabitants of Bocas Del Toro are mostly Christian and they are known for their hospitality. They celebrate a wide range of festivals and some of them are the New Year, Carnival, Eastern, Sea Fair, National Flag day, Bocas Del Toro day and Christmas.
