Located 664 miles away from Nadi, Noumea is the capital city of New Caledonia which is one of the French territories. The city was discovered by Captain Cook and it is shaped like a cigar. This city was considered to be a part of France in 1853.
The city is a great example of the French and Melanesian tradition. The first settlement in this city was founded by the British businessman James Paddon in the year 1851. The French government established a settlement after three years in 1854. This city was also named as the biggest military headquarter during the World War II.
