Puebla Sights and Landmarks Guide, Mexico
The city of Puebla was tagged as World Heritage Site by UNESCO many years back and this is when the tourism industry of this city started to do wonders for the economy. The Historic Center of Puebla is still very famous due to the awesome architecture of Spanish times. Unfortunately the city of Puebla was hit by an earthquake during the year 1999 and it was due to this earthquake that most of the historical monuments of this city were seriously damaged. Many of those damaged monuments were restored but some of them couldn’t be due to various reasons and now they don’t attract tourists.
Some of the very famous colonial monuments which are visited the most by different local as well as foreign tourists are Capilla del Rosario (also called as Rosary Chapel) which is famous due to its gold covering and Puebla Cathedral which is famous due to its architecture which is of neoclassical style. Some more of such tourist hot spots in the city of Puebla are Centro y Zócalo (which is situated in the downtown region of Puebla) which is actually the place where the Municipal building plus the city’s cathedral is located and El Barrio del Artista (which is also famous by the name of The Artist's Neighborhood) which is the place for various art lovers.
Another famous tourist hot spot in the city of Puebla is the Automobile Museum which has an awesome collection of various vintage cars you might not find anywhere else. The huge collection of rare cars makes this museum the most favorite place for all vintage car lovers. The perfect collection also has the famous Popemobile which was actually used by the famous John Paul II when he once visited the country of Mexico.
Then there is the African Safari Zoo which will surely give you the best experience of a safari. So if you are planning to spend some time with Mother Nature then you won’t find a better place than this zoo so as to satisfy your thirst of enjoying the lush green environments and sight of various animals.
Some other tourist hot spots in the city of Puebla are Amparo Museum, Biblioteca Palafoxiana, the Pyramid of Cholula, and Museo Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Mexicanos.
