The beautiful city of Mexicali is located somewhere in north east region of Baja California. The valley on which the city of Mexicali is located has always been considered as one of the few very fertile pieces of land in the country of Mexico. The name Mexicali is said to be derived after using the first halves of two different cities namely Mexico (used the letters Mexi) and California (used the letters Cali). Same is the case with the bordering city of Calexico which is part of United States. Along with the theory behind naming these two cities have a lot in common when it comes to architecture of buildings within the city borders, culture of both the cities, similar cuisines, and similar patterns in economical growth makes these two cities as sister cities.
Climatic conditions for the city of Mexicali keep changing between days and nights. The city is located in deserted location and hence the days are extremely hot while the nights are extremely cold. The locals of this city are considered to be mentally and physically strong humans as they are able to face the sudden drops in temperature. The clear blue sky with no signs of rain for months and the intense hardships of nature isn’t that easy to face.
The locals of Mexicali city earn their living by working in various industries which can be the small scale cloth manufacturing company to the large scale automobile industry. Many migrants enter the city every day with multiple purposes like starting business, working in some factory, or might be just for enjoying the holidays.
Mexicali cuisine is famous for its mix of Chinese and Mexican flavors. This has happed due to the presence of Chinese migrants within the city premises. Touch of China can also be observed in the music of Mexicali due to similar reasons.
