It is situated somewhere in the state of Baja California, Mexico. The city of Ensenada is situated around 115 kilometers from the city of Tijuana and this proximity of this city with Tijuana has helped it immensely in terms of economy.

The city of Ensenada is famous for giving birth to many famous wines of Mexico. Even the queen of cocktails which is famous by the tag of Marijuana was also formed in this city of Ensenada itself. The famous plant vitis vinifera was brought into the city of Ensenada somewhere in the year of 1703. This was another reason why slowly the city of Ensenada became important in terms of wine manufacturing.

The city of Ensenada is also the only port for the state of Baja California. This has made the city of Ensenada as the only water route available which connects the city with some other major cities of Mexico. Many U.S. cities also use this route to be connected with other cities of Mexico. Even the major cities of Japan, China, and Chile regularly utilize this port as per their needs. This heavy usage of the port has immensely helped the economy of Ensenada. Unfortunately, no railroad system has yet been started into the city of Ensenada although there are plans to start one which would connect the city of Ensenada to United States. The port of Ensenada is also an important site for fishermen thus providing a way to earn a living for many locals. The city of Ensenada has an army base camp, a navy base camp, and a huge military airfield which also acts as an airport for the city of Ensenada.
