The locals of the city of Durango are referred to as Duranguense. Rest of the Mexico mostly refers the locals of Durango as Alacrán de Durango which actually means scorpion from the city of Durango. This is said as the city of Durango is famous for its scorpions.

The city of Durango is also famous for its movies and cultural dance festivals. You must attend these festivals whenever you visit the city of Durango.
