6ht October 1750 was the day when the foundation for the city of Ciudad Victoria was successfully laid. The initial name for the city of Ciudad Victoria during its formation was Villa de Santa María de Aguayo. The foundation for this city of Villa de Santa María de Aguayo was laid by José de Escandón y Helguera. He was a famous Spanish Fighter who used to be a part of the Spanish Army during the 1770s. He became famous when he was made the governor for the colony Nuevo Santander. He was actually the first governor for this colony Nuevo Santander.
The city of Ciudad Victoria was actually a town during its early years of its formation. The small town grew quickly under the hands of intelligent leaders and in no time the city started to fight against many leading cities of Mexico in terms of economy. Finally, by 20th April, 1825, the small town of Ciudad Victoria was given the tag of a city. The current name Ciudad Victoria was given to the city as during those days the president of Mexico was Guadalupe Victoria.
It was the last few years of the 19th century and first half of 20th century when the city of Ciudad Victoria started to undergo huge changes and slowly the city became modernized like other neighboring cities.
It was the year 1890 when the city of Ciudad Victoria was gifted with its own railway line. This railway line was connecting the cities of Tampico and Monterrey. Many highways have been gifted to this city of Ciudad Victoria and most were built during the early years of 20th century. All this construction helped the city of Ciudad Victoria gain recognition on the national level.
Finally it was the year 1910 when the city of Ciudad Victoria took another step towards modernization with the successful installation of electric wires and telegraph lines around the city. The first theatre was built in the city of Ciudad Victoria somewhere in 1899. It was named as Juárez Theater.
