Verona Travel Guide, Italy

The country of Italy has been divided into 20 regions and the city of Verona is the capital city for one such region which has been named as Veneto. Three different regions of Italy have been together called as Triveneto. These three regions are Friuli - Venezia Giulia, Trentino - Alto Adige, and Veneto. The city of Verona bags the 2nd spot when it comes to most populated cities of Triveneto.

As per the census of year 2007 the population for the city of Verona was around 265000 inhabitants. Surprisingly the male population was just 47 percent while the rest was female population. One should note that the city of Verona experienced only a jump of around 3 percent in its population between the years of 2002 till 2007. Around 90 percent of this total population was Italian which reflects that the city of Verona hasn’t faced any immigration problems in last many decades.

European countries contribute to around 3.5 percent of the total population and South Asian countries contribute around 2 percent of the total population for the country of Verona. An assuming fact says that out of every 1 baby of the 5 born has foreign parent which means that the grip of foreigners has increasing rapidly in last couple of years. Along with Christians the city of Verona also has many Muslim and Hindu followers.

The city of Verona is very famous amongst foreign tourists just like the rest of Italy is. Regularly thousands of foreign tourists hit this city of Verona to enjoy various opera shows, annual fairs, artistic galleries, and many ancient monuments which are also part of this city.

The city of Verona has been the hometown for many world famous personalities like Aleardo Aleardi (who was a famous poet of his times), Catullus (a famous Latin poet of his times), Antonio Salieri (a very famous music composer), Walter Chiari (an actor), Ippolito Pindermonte (another very famous poet), Ratherius (a famous writer whose writing are still appreciated by many locals of the city), and Giovanni Guardini (a famous theologian).

The city of Verona has been famous in the country of Italy due to its scenic beauty, historical memories and due to the presence of many famous personalities in the city.
