The city of Bari happens to be the capital city for Bari Province which is part of Italy. The city of Bari is also the capital city for the huge Apulia region of Italy. This Apulia region is surrounded by Adriatic Sea from the eastern side, Gulf of Taranto from the Southern side, Strait of Otranto again from the southern side, and Ionian Sea from the south eastern side. The city of Bari is situated on the Adriatic Sea and this has always been helpful for this city in terms of economy and water supply.

 

As per the census of year 2007 the population for the city of Bari was around 330000 inhabitants out of which around 1.6 million were living in the greater Bari region which is actually the metropolitan region for the city of Bari. The city of Bari hasn’t experienced any huge population growth when its growth is compared with that of Italy. Between the years 2002 till 2007, the population jumped to around 2.7 percent, while during the same period, the population for the country of Italy jumped to around 3.6 percent. As per the census of year 2006 the percentage of people from Italian descent in the city of Bari was over 98 percent. Most number of foreign immigrants that enter into the city of Bari are from different European countries like Greece and Albania.

 

The city of Bari is made up of twenty different quarters which are also called as quartiere or neighborhoods in English. These quarters have been sub divided into nine different governmental community sections or boards. This division helps the government of Bari to administer the city with ease and this reduces the administrational hassles which many cities have to face most of the time.

 

As of today the city of Bari has become a modernized industrial city. Other then modern industries there are many regions in the city of Bari which haven’t yet been discovered by tourists and hence this city becomes a must visit whenever you hit the country of Italy. The mix of port city with industrialization and historical traditions makes the city of Bari a must visit which will make your trip a memorable one for sure.
