Mumbai History
By 1661 upon the pending marriage of England’s King, Charles II to Portugal’s princess Catherine de Braganza, the entire city of Mumbai was given as a dowry. The Town Hall is one of the oldest neo-classical structures you can find in the city. It was built in 1833 by Colonel Tomas Cowper who led the Mumbai engineers. It stands 100 feet high.
