You will never run out of things to do at night once you’re in Tianjin. There are always pubs, bars, night stalls, and other kinds of entertainment that will surely keep you awake the entire evening.

Expats’ haven

A lot of foreigners can be found in Alibabas, or Babas. It’s a small but lively bar located in one of the cheapest parts of the town. Beers and food are very much affordable, and the music played is very varied. It also ushers a party atmosphere, which keeps people on their feet and on the dance floor for most of the time. You will also find the bar attendants, and even the partygoers, to be accommodating and very friendly. There are just two things you have to keep in mind. For one, it’s best if you can arrive 9:00 p.m. or earlier than that, so you can still grab a seat. The bathroom is also dirty, so don’t forget to bring a tissue.

Street nights

If you want to get a general feel of the real nightlife in Tianjin, go into the streets. You will find several small restaurants and stalls selling different kinds of goods and meals to tourists and locals. They are also a favorite among those who are in a tight budget. Don’t be surprised too if you’ll see a lot of girls in the area. Usually, they don’t go out that much during daytime to avoid getting darker skin. Meat in skewers is commonly sold after midnight.

Bar districts

There are numerous areas in Tianjin that you can consider a bar district. You will know it right away as these establishments are built side by side. There are men assigned at the doors, acting as “barkers” to attract customers to grab a beer or two.

Because of stiff competition, these bars would often resort to different kinds of gimmicks. You may find some girls dancing on the stage, or there will be wet T-shirt competitions. If there’s one thing that appears to be similar, though, it would be the price of the beer. It will cost you more to drink alcohol in these areas. For example, a battle of Corona would almost be two times higher than its regular price.

Great bars and discotheques to go to are Scarlet, which is found in Nankai District, and Seven, in Hexi Distric. You can also go to Huana Golf Club fount at Huanhai Lu.
