The Indian Standard Time (IST) longitude lies between the cities of Varanasi (which is around ahead of IST) and Allahabad (which is around 2.6 minutes behind the IST). The city of Allahabad is located in the state of Uttar Pradesh and is a famous religious spot as the two religious rivers Yamuna and Ganga merge in the city itself. Although Allahabad does not boast of any world famous monuments to attract huge number of tourists, still this city is able to experience some number of tourists.
Once the religiously inclined visitor takes a dip in the Sangam (merging) of Yamuna and the Ganga then he sets out to visit the other so called tourist spots of Allahabad.
To start with, one can visit the High Court (the state level court which is right below the Supreme Court of India) as the monument in which the High Court is located is famous for its historical design.
Lok Nath food court is a must visit for tourists who want to get a taste of the local food of this city. Food here is cooked by using Pure Desi Ghee which helps the body gain enough calories to have necessary energy for doing extra hard work.
The historical Allahabad Fort. Although not many stories are linked to this fort, somehow it is able to attract a couple of tourists every year. Its design is worth watching.
The Museum of Allahabad is famous for various manuscripts, historical sculptures, and cultural items which will surely interest those who love history. History haters might not appreciate the hard work of the people who are behind the museum.
Some famous temples of Allahabad are Shivkoti Mahadev Temple, Someshwar Mahadev Temple, Dashaswamedh Temple (which is located on the banks of the holy River Ganga), Bare Hanumanji Temple (located on the banks of Sangam), Benimadhav Temple, Nag Vasuki Mandir, and Patalpuri Temple.
Company Bagh is another tourist hot spot in the city of Allahabad. The British Army had built such gardens in all the cities where their army headquarters was placed. Cities that have a cantonment area also have the so called Company Bagh. It is also famous by the name of Chandrashekhar Azad Park or Alfred Park.
Some more tourist hot spots of the city are: Pratisthan Pur (Jhunsi), Allahabad Planetarium, Khusro Bagh, Minto Park.
