Guatemala City Nightlife, Guatemala

The nightlife is very diversified and lively.  5 p.m. is the time when clubs and bars start to welcome their guests. However, these clubs will often continue partying into the early morning hours, sometimes as late as 6 a.m.  There are many unique restaurants, bar, and clubs for the locals and the tourists to enjoy.  Here are a few.

The Arrin-Cuan is a wonderful restaurant club that offers fine cuisine and drinks, followed by live marimba music. El Tuztepito is another club usually stays open until dawn.  A traditional bar worth considering is the El Portalito, which features marimba music and a beautiful wood décor.

Zona Viva, located in the southern part of the city, consists of dozens of restaurants and clubs.  This is the most popular tourist destination now in the city, and it is brimming with discos, restaurants, bars, and shops.  You might consider Loros as a nice place to start your evening.  It features exotic cocktails, and a great mix of dance music.  Kalhua is an old-fashioned bar with a local feel. You’ll find that many of the nightlife clubs and bars are only a short walking distance from many of the hotels in the city.

The Los Proceres shopping center contains the Las Terrazas center for leisure.  Othello is a quaint, quiet bar, but if you are looking for the hottest clubs, Las Terrazas has a wide array to choose from.  Dress in most of the Guatemala City nightclubs is usually very trendy, and up-to-date.  Consider packing your most hip and fashionable clothes to take with you.

Whatever your nightlife preferences, Guatemala City has something for everyone.  Visit this great city on your next quest for the perfect club.
