Versailles Nightlife, France
The Parisian suburb of Versailles is situated twenty kilometers southwest of Paris and 64 miles from Rouen, it is especially well known for the enormous palace called “Le Chateau de Versailles” that makes it a royal tow, but once you get there you cannot miss the opportunity of spending a pleasant evening or why not an entire night in one of its fancy clubs that never cease to amaze tourists with good quality music, service and pleasant atmosphere.
Versailles, Nightlife – The Main Restaurants
Even if “L’Resto du Roy” is a bistro that lies in an 18th-century building and is painted in autumnal colors such as orange and apricot tones, the hired chef is always ready to impress you with many local contemporary specialties including the French duck foie gras with caramelized apples or sautéed scallops in a parsley sauce.
When referring to Versailles Nightlife one would say that simplicity is the key of perfection that goes very well with cuisine too and this is indeed the essence of what makes a perfect dinner in a restaurant opened till late at night and eager to welcome guests from all over the world and show them that there is art in the cooking field as well, seen and understood of course, not in the same way as that existing in the famous “Palace of Versailles”.
“Le Potager du Roy” seems to be the ideal place when you are not so eager to order a pizza, chips or sandwiches, which means that you have time and money to spend and wait for a perfect dish especially created for you by the perfectionist and the unique Philippe Letourneur who always wants to try new things in the kitchen, to bring novelty and imagination when it comes to preparing a different menu for each season. The restaurant addresses those who have the courage to try new things and appreciate the taste and the effort of the chef.
“Les Trois Marches” Restaurant is not at all behind the first two mentioned above when talking about quality at expensive prices in a private, remarkable place that invites everybody to drink the tasty French wine and eat the royal delicacies in a bourgeoisie atmosphere.
The innovative chef Gérard Vié is willing to do his best when cooking and presenting his delicacies like the Sevruga caviar, the roasted pigeon and flavored with rosé or the lobster salad with fresh herbs and many others that leave your stomach and wallet half empty as it is not the quantity but the quality that really matters in the end.
Versailles, Nightlife – Entertainment
Versailles Nightlife is not only about cuisine and the best places in town to have dinner at, but also it is about having fun and enjoy yourself or being entertained by others.
Such a charming unique atmosphere is realized by “The Grandes Eaux Musicales”, or “Fountain Shows” that happen every week-end throughout the spring and summer when the baroque and classical music are greatly mastered in a breathtaking show that reveals the amazing Louis XIV 50 fountains that spout water in not less than 700 jets.
They offer an even greater spectacle of music, lights and water during July and August nights, an event that takes place nowhere around the world, so it is indeed worth being watched at Versailles.
“The Fêtes de Nuit” organized every year in August takes you back in time offering tourists stunning shows of fireworks and giant images displayed on water screens connected to appropriate music.
The entertaining part is for sure one of the most important aspects of a trip to Versailles which you will always remember and you will gladly talk to your grand-children about it.
