Besides films and divas, it’s a city of sun, seaside, tourists, cultural events and parks. You can take a stroll down the pretty narrow streets of quarters such as: Centre ville-Croisette, Bocca Sud, Bocca Nord or Californie.
It is a city of flowers, as it has 4 fleurs Label on the national scale for cities that best display their floral treasures. If you visit Cannes from May to October you will have a feast on the colors and odors of the city. Go to Jardin de la Ferme with your kids and enjoy the games, the pool or the olive trees’ shadow or to Jardin suspendu Riviera to have a great panorama of the bluish sea. If you are really interested in the variety of flowers you see in the multitude of squares, Les Serres Municipales are waiting for you.
If you are interested in the ancient city, start from Rue Saint Sauveur with its many artisans and artists’ boutiques and continue your trip, passing by Chapelle Saint Sauveur up to la Place Bellevue where you will have beautiful sights on the Bay of Cannes.Try a bus ride as well, with Bus Azur, on the most beautiful boulevard – la Croisette, by the sea. And if you are more of a walker, start from the City Hall and climb the Carre Tour to see a magnificent panorama.
If you adore swimming, sunbathing, blue sky and „la dolce vita” there are 7 kilometres of fine sand of public and private beaches.
Just ahead of the Cannes Bay there are Les îles de Lérins, island where flora and fauna combine with the mystery of the Iron Mask and the tranquillity of the Cistercian monks.
But if you missed the film festival, don’t worry, there are other international events: MIDEM the music festival, TAX FREE World Exhibition, International Advertising Film, International Festival of Games, Cannes Shopping Festival or Cannes Golf Festival.
There are plenty of reasons why you should take a chance on Cannes.
