Cali, Colombia - Tourist Attractions 

 The city attracts a number of tourists from around the world and some of them like to visit the city every year. There is something for everyone in Cali that makes the city extra special.

Among the favorite tourist spots, Plaza de Caicedo is number one. This is in the main square in the city in downtown. You can visit the gothic-style church called La Ermita, which is again in the downtown area.

There is a colonial-type church, Museo Arqueológico La Merced that also has an archaeological museum displaying items from ancient cultures.

Museum lovers can also go to La Tertulia, which is a museum of modern art and Museo del Oro del Banco de la República, which has the archaeological exhibits of pre-Columbian cultures.

Some other famous churches are Iglesia de San Antonio, and the little church in the Torre Mudéjar tower. This is the best-preserved church and a genuine sample in South America of the Moorish influenced architecture before the 17th century.

Another interesting place is the zoo, which is Columbia’s best, La Gruta. It is the favorite spot for the youngsters and Plaza de Toros, the bullfighting arena of Cali should also be visited. Enjoy a great view of downtown area at the feet of the statue of the founding father at Estatua de Belalcazar and also from Cerro de las Tres Cruces, a hill embellished with three big crosses.

Cali looks after the shopping requirements of its tourists too. You can go to Loma de la Cruz and buy things for yourself and also collect some inexpensive gifts for your friends. Nature lovers can go to Paramo de las Hermosas to enjoy a unique Andean landscape, full of frailejón and small lakes.

You can be of any age and you can have any kind of taste, you will definitely find lots to do in Cali.
