Urumqi is a quaint city that offers an interesting form of nightlife. Not only do you get to hang out in bars in Urumqi, you can also watch some traditional Chinese sing and dance shows and get to taste local Chinese delicacies in its famous night markets.

Many people of Urumqi start their day at nightfall with more and more people visiting the many restaurants, clubs, cafes and open air bars of Urumqi in search for entertainment and relaxation.

The most popular haunt for local food in Urumqi is the May the First Night Market. There are many food stalls available here, all stocked with foodstuffs varying from soups to rice items to kebabs. Bars have been around in Urumqi for quite some time now. They are mainly concentrated in the centre of Urumqi. The best place to go for drinks is the famous Jiefang Nan Lu, where there are lots of internet cafes, pubs, tea and coffee bars and bowling clubs to keep you entertained with your drinks.

This bar is over 4 years old where you not only get great drinks, but can also get lots of information about what to do in Urumqi and its surrounding places like XinJiang. The atmosphere is great in Fubar which stays open till the last customer leaves the place. The menu consists of continental food like burgers, pizzas and fish and chips while there is a great collection of foreign bears. There is a pool table and darts board here to keep you company too.
