The August First Uprising Museum is a definite sight to see, as it is Nanchang’s oldest existing building to date as was built on what was once known to be the general headquarters of the communists all the way back in 1927. Here, the army of the revolution came for meetings during the uprising in arms and to this day, it has been maintained as a memorial of the revolution with a display of various culturally and historically important objects. Another similar attraction would be the Memorial Hall to the Martyrs of the Revolution, which is located in Bayi Dadao and is there to commemorate the ten civil wars in China and all of the revolutionaries who died in battle.
Probably the most celebrated historical attraction in Nanchang, however, would be the Prince Teng Pavilion, which can be found near the Ganjiang River. To this day, this poem is still taught in educational institutions all over China.
Nanchang Sights – Natural Attractions
If you wish to simply take in the Nanchang sights that this city has to offer, visit the Jinggang area. Here you will find folkways that have yet survived to be untouched, where the eco-environment is quite primitive and the area itself is isolated by the mountains. These surrounding mountains simply teem with bamboo, which is mostly used by the locals to create fashionable souvenirs for you to take home after your trip. These locals are also more than willing to share some of their stories from the past, which villagers have passed on for generations.
Nanchang also provides various parks for you to relax in, such as the August 1 Park and, more notably, the People’s Park. This park comes with a traditional Jiangnan garden design, such as an Osmanthus lawn and a Lotus promenade, as well as a view of the Baihua Mountain. During the holidays, tourists come here to relax and unwind, as it is definitely the perfect place in Nanchang to be to do so.
