Sarajevo Nightlife, Bosnia And Herzegowina

The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo has a wide repute for its wonderful nightlife. The cosmopolitan atmosphere is a tangible one where there are more cafes per capita here than found in any other European city. The relaxed café culture of the city is also something worth mentioning.

The opportunities for nightlife activities in Sarajevo are aplenty and ranges from entertainment in cinemas and clubs to opera and theater performances. You also find frequent festivals arranged in the city, showcasing the popular pastimes of the city like jazz and film.

Cafes and bars are aplenty in Sarajevo

Cafes and bars line the main cities here, which are open till late night. This is why youngsters of Bosnia love going on lengthy chats, and watching people walk by while drinking coffee. Some of the places worth visiting in Sarajevo for unwinding are KIC of Milana Rakica Street, Kastel of the city’s medieval castle and the Hard Rock Café of Banja Luka.

Some cafes and cars of Sarajevo offer live music, some have DJs and others offer rock music. There is also a lovely café found in the Turkish quarter sporting a huge aviary. The Cinemas Club of Sloga is found at Mejtasi, in the vicinity of the Croatian embassy and is popular amongst youngsters and students.

It is depending on the night that music is played here, while live shows with mostly rock shows, is played in abundance here. Monday is the best day to come here, as this is when there is a Latino night with most of the patrons hitting the floor.

Party the night away at Buddha Bar

The City Pub is located at the heart of Sarajevo, at Despiceva b.b, that boasts of blues, DJ, rock and jazz music. The pub hosts concerts, art performances and movie showings and as the place can get crowded, be fast in making orders.

The Buddha Bar is located at Radiceva 10 near the Cinemas Club of Sloga and the Club and the place where Saturday nights end for most party goers. This is a basement club where the sun never enters, and where people party till the afternoon when people go home for lunch and a good ‘night’s’ sleep.

Tips on when to try out Sarajevo nightlife

If you are looking for a leisurely place to relax while in Sarajevo, head to the Café Opera, located at Branilaca Sarajeva. If you want some entertainment, you may get to watch a live music show while sipping away at your drink.

 Wherever you head to taste Sarajevo nightlife, never think of going out on Sundays, as this is when everyone is home sleeping. The days to taste Sarajevo nightlife are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, when the atmosphere is vibrant.
