The famous Port of Hobart is built around the historical area which is called as Sullivan’s Cove. This area of Sullivan’s Cove is that land where the first few settlements of this city started to live. Hence Sullivan’s Cove is of high historical and cultural importance for the city of Hobart. Thus the Port of Hobart also becomes an important place due to its location.
The economy of Hobart has improved considerably since last many decades due to the presence of a Port on the coast of the city. The Port of Hobart loads around 2000 tons of cargo packets every year for Aurora Australis which is an important research vessel for Australia.
The city of Hobart has many other industries like that of Cadbury, a zinc smelter factory, Cascade Brewery, and lastly the tourism industry which is performing wonders for the economy of Hobart.
