Beaches
The Surfers’ Paradise is a fantastic beach that is close to several cafes and shopping centers. Travelers could have a relaxing swim here and also enjoy other ocean activities. Broadbeach provides a vast pedestrian shopping district just outside the actual beach and there is a children’s playground and charming fairground rides that operate all year. Echo Beach is a fun place to have a picnic or one could also head off to the secluded beach and barbecue area, wherein people could take their lunch under the pine trees. Kirra Point is perhaps the most famous beach in Gold Coast. This is where the Billabong Pro surfing competitions happen. Coolangatta is where one could find the loveliest beaches. It showcases over 1,400 exotic native animals found in their natural environment. Paradise Country offers a farm tour to familiarize visitors with some tame and intriguing animals. One could even cuddle a koala here.
National Parks
Lamington National Park offers one of the biggest Australian rainforests. It has more than 170 species of flora and around 38 varieties of fauna, plenty of which are unique to Gold Coast. Springbrook National Park has 3 separate regions and each of them has their own features. Its 3 distinct areas are Springbrook Plateau, Natural Bridge, and Mt. Cougal.
The Tamborine Mountain National Park is a collection of 9 national parks. Its 4 biggest parks namely Cedar Creek, Witches Falls, The Knoll and Palm Grove, all have sheltered picnic areas and stunning walking tracks.
