Brisbane is a bustling city with many attractions for adults and children alike. Brisbane Casino, once the Old Treasury Building, is a definite must see for its architecture, casino and food.  Parliament House, a French Renaissance building on George Street, overlooks the Botanic Gardens.  Tours are available and you can book a traditional British High Tea. The Botanic Gardens are situated along the river and are open 24 hours a day. 

Brisbane's main art gallery, museum and theatre complex can be found in Queensland Cultural Centre, opposite the city centre and next to Victoria Bridge.

There ‘s a great view of the entire city from the observation platform in the 85 meter clock tower at City Hall in King George Square.

Just 8km from the city is Mt Coot-tha, Brisbanes’ highest point.  It boasts spectacular views over Brisbane and the surrounding suburbs, as well as the beautiful Glass House Mountains (North), Gold Coast hinterland (South) and Morton and Stradbroke Islands (East), and walks along an Aboriginal art Trail is nice to view tree carvings and rock paintings.

Queensland Maritime Museum has many models and relics on display cataloguing Queenslands’ maritime history.  Featuring the 1925 steam tug SS Forceful, the South Brisbane Dry Dock and the warship Diamantina, visitors can explore a decommissioned Navy frigate or take one of the regular river-bay trips.

If you have children, a visit to the Science Center is a must!  This is a “hands on” experience that will keep young and old alike entertained for several hours.

Australia has a number of breweries, and Brisbane is home to three of them.  “Castlemaine-Perkins-XXXX”, and “Milton Road & The Carlton Brewhouse” tours include a free beer sample included in the price.  “The Brewhouse” is located on Albert Street, and offers tours for groups of ten and over, including free beer tasting and meal for around $20.
