Too Much To do In Cordoba, Argentina

Even if you had a month to explore Cordoba in Argentina, it still would not be enough time to see all the wonderful sights that this city has to offer.   It has everything you could possibly want to see like museums, churches, shopping centers, parks, plazas, buildings, theatres and much more.   There are even UNESCO World Heritage sites in Cordoba and many of the buildings that you will see date back to the Jesuit time in the area in the 1600s and 1700s.

If you want to start with churches, there are a handful or two that you can see.  You can go to the cathedral Iglesia de Santa Catalina de Siena, Iglesia de San Francisco, Iglesia Sagrado Corazon and the Iglesia María Auxiliadora.  You can also go to the oldest church in Argentina which is the Compañía de Jesús.  You will notice that the Iglesia Sagrado Corazón has a beautiful neo gothic architecture.

For more architectural delights in Cordoba you should visit the Cabildo, the Palacio de Justicia, the Banco de la Provincia de Cordoba, the monument of Myriam Stefford and the Monument of San Martín conveniently located in the Plaza San Martin.    There are dozens of parks, plazas and squares to visit as well. 

The Parque Sarmiento is great because there are a lot of other activities you can do while in this park.  You can go to a small botanical garden, take a walk around the lake or visit the animals at the zoo.  Parque de la Vida has a beautiful landscape to view.  Paseo de Sobremonte is one of the oldest squares in Cordoba which was constructed in 1785.  Other places that you can go to include Paseo de las Artes, Isla de los Patos, Plaza España, Plaza de las Naciones and Plaza Colón.

For a complete briefing on history, Cordoba has over 50 museums.  Some of the best museums in Cordoba include the following: Museo de Arte Religioso Juan de Tejeda, Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Emilio E. Carrafa, Museo Iberoamericano de Artesanías, Museo Cultural General Paz, Museo de Zoología, Museo de la Anatomía, Museo de Antropología de la UNC, Museo Colonial Hispanoamericano and the Museo Obispo Salguero.
