The city of Algiers happens to be the capital city for the country of Algeria. The old city of Algiers is located somewhere on a steep hill. The old city is more or less like the older styled casbah which were sort - of villages in historical days. The casbah of Algiers and two different quays form a triangle on the geographical map if observed carefully. The modern Algiers is situated somewhere on the leveled ground and is right next to the older Algiers. The modern city of Algiers is situated next to the sea.

As per the census of year 2007 the population for the city of Algiers was just above 2 million inhabitants. The population for the city of Algiers was around 1.5 million as per the census of year 1998. This proves that the city of Algiers is still not being haunted by the population explosion thing. Around 59 percent of the locals in the city of Algiers are of Arabic speaking origin, around 38 percent of the Berber speaking origin, and around 3 percent are foreigners who have migrated to the city. Mostly people from Vietnam, China, and Mali are the ones who regularly travel to the city of Algiers for jobs.

Officially there are around 54 bus lines which are currently in operation in the city of Algiers. These buses start running as early as 5:30 AM and run constantly till 12:45 AM late nights. The bus service of Algiers is called as ETUSA. The city of Algiers has also been gifted with many railway lines which connect the city of Algiers to major neighboring cities. This railway system of Algiers is called as SNTF. Recently the city of Algiers was gifted with its own Metro Rail system so as to curb down the traffic problems within the city. The international airport which is used by the people of Algiers is located around 20 kilometers from the heart of the city. This proves that you won’t have to face transport problems whenever you hit the city of Algiers.

The city if Algiers is one of the rare mix of culture, modernization, and beauty of nature. Whenever you get time and if you are near Algiers then you must spend a day or two in this city. Be rest assured that your trip won’t be a waste of time.
