York is a historical city situated in the Yorkshire, England. The history of the city is expanded over 2000 years. York was founded by Eboracum in 71 AD and it was made capital of the Britannia Inferior. The Roman Empire was governed from York. The city of York consists of Unitary Authority Area. Archeological evidences indicate that the city has been inhabited in the 6000-7000 BC. In the Roman times, York was occupied by the tribes known as Brigantes.
