I stayed down at Isaac's place for a night down in Long Beach. He just got a new place so it was all empty. I did have some cushions and a sleeping bag:) We went out that night and some drunk guy called me fag because of the man purse I am wearing these days. Anyhow, I got over it with a smile.

We went out to three bars and there was nothing really great about Long Beach night life. Pretty boring and one could totally tell that Long Beach and LA are two completely different worlds.

Anyhow, my eyes started hurting towards the end of the night and I took my contacts out. I woke up the next day and I couldn't see a thing. I simply could not keep my eyes open and was really in pain. I somehow managed to go to RiteAid and got some eye solution and aspirin. I stayed in the car for about 4 hours until I finally headed for Manhattan Beach to see John who would drive to Las Vegas with me.

John drove the whole way. It was a great trip as always. Our game sucked however. I couldn't get a hang on the game and John kept getting bad beats. This crazy drunk black guy (we called him Miami), would always raise the blinds or re-raise if there was a bet earlier, so no cheap gambling. It was fun nevertheless and we stayed until around 7am playing and drinking. I had lost like 50 bucks and John was down around 220.

The next day we got up late and headed over to the Main Street Station to grab that cheap but good buffet. We came early and decided to try our luck at Black Jack and Craps. No luck again:(. Oh well, after dumping a little more to the house we finally went to eat. The buffet is really good there. It's simple but they have some good stuff. Afterwards we headed over to old town, which is always a nice contrast to the newer strip. I like Old Town and there is more and more stuff these days again. I filmed a nice little light show which I will upload later.

At Binions we finally had some good gambling action again. The table next to us had Todd Brunson sitting there and the other table had another interesting figure, 'The Duke' as everyone called him. He was wearing cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, and was carrying a purple velvet bag with golden ribbons around it. This guy always goes to the Binion with his little purple bag, dumps 50,000 on the table and never playes. He sings, he dances and entertains everybody. This guy gets like 5K in chips and puts the rest in dollar bills and golden watches and bracelets on the table. The other guys sat with around 100-200 and this guy with 50K at a low limit table, so funny. Anyhow, he was enjoying himself a lot.

I did 2 huge hands within 2 minutes I flopped a four of a kind Jacks and then caught JK suited spades and turned the Royal flush. The dealer and everyone was shocked at the table. The deal had not pulled a hand like it in 5 years. Nevertheless, I did lose a little later on so besides catching a Royal Flush with both cards in my hand playing it was not very successful. This was no limit too, and I could simply not get anyone to call me.

The night ended early as we were not able to get into the Body English club at the Hard Rock Casino. We did check out Hooters, but that was a disappointment altogether.

Vegas was great and I really love that town where everyone is king. You win you lose, but that's not what it's all about.

Las Vegas History

Las Vegas, NV, USOn May 15th,1905, Las Vegas was founded as a railroad town.  This was the staging point for the mines in the area, especially the ones around Bullfrog, a town that shipped goods to other parts of the country.  Las Vegas declined in importance with the rapid growth of the railroads, but the Hoover Dam's completion caused a significant growth of tourism, of which led to the building of hotels and casinos which made Las Vegas famous. The American mafia is responsible for the current reputation and status of the city, as the original casinos were either managed or funded by mob figures Meyer Lansky and Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel....
