The attractions of Esztergom, Hungary
Reviews > Europe > Hungary > Esztergom > The attractions of Esztergom
Esztergom is a city very close to the capital city, Budapest. I visited it many years ago with my classmates.
I remember that the city is quite nice, but the best part of our sightseeing trip was the visit at the Dome. This is the highest building in Hungary and also the biggest parochial building. The Dome stands on the Szent Istvan square. If you want to make some really good photos of it, you must go quite far from it.
After paying some money (I don't remember exactly how much, but it wasn't expensive at that time) you can go up in one of its towers. It's a bit exhausting to climb all those stairs which go round and round but if you reach the top you will be glad you made it :) The scenery is beautiful and it's a really nice feeling to be so high and no other building is in the way.
