First, this was a 2.5 days weekend trip to Ruegen. Just to let you know that this will be no detailed description of the island itself...

Well, to get there we were taking the train from Potsdam to Sassnitz. That is quite moderate when you buy a 'Ostseeticket', if possible. 40 Euros there and back within 9 days for the first person, any further person pays 30 Euros. For the nights we were setting up at very nice and clean camping ground in Nipmerow, about 8 km north of Sassnitz (http://www.ruegen-naturcamping.de/). It's right at the entrance to the national park. And it's absolutly affordable!

Now, Jasmund National Parkis very famous for it's cliffs, white chalk cliffs rather. Especially the so called 'Koenigsstuhl' is well known and probably most Germans have already seen it on pictures (http://www.koenigsstuhl.com/). However, it's not worth it to pay the entrance to that national park centre. You'll have plenty of impressive moments and views at several other places along the shore line.

In our case, we were brought from our camping ground to Sassnitz via bus shuttle. By the way, you can have excellent bread rolls with fish there. Delicious! From Sassnitz you can go all the way back to Nipmerow along the shore line either down at the water or above the cliffs in a beautiful beech grove. The track is signposted well and takes you about 4 hours at least. But probably longer because there's much to see! Nature galore! =)

Wasn't my last time on Ruegen. I'll be back! But next time for longer, definitely.

Ravensburg Sights

Opened: monday - friday: 9 - 17.30 o´clock, saturday: 10 - 13 o´clock With these tours you can get an experience, what all you could exlpore in detail afterwards. A lot of these historical buildings are open to the public. Time schedules for that can be asked for at the tourist office. One of the highlights of the city are the many towers, located all over the city limits. Because of that Ravensburg is also called city of the towers. One tower, called "Flour Tower" (german: Mehlsack) is even important for the local history of the city in medieval times. You can enter that tower regularly at Sa. / So. 10-15 o´clock...
