Pedro Sánchez (On the way to Miches):
If you are headed to Miches in the Dominican Republic, take time to stop off in Pedro Sanchez, a rural village located in the province of El Seibo. The community members of Pedro Sánchez offer community based sustainable tourism options that include indigenous trails to a stunning waterfall, natural springs and caves. Excursions can be done by foot or on horseback and are led by trained guides from the community. Refuel after the hike with homemade Dominican specialties like moro con coco (rice with coconut) followed by an organic coffee or organic hot chocolate, both of which are locally grown. (Sustainable Ecotourism Pedro Sánchez; eco.pedrosanchez@gmail.com;
https://sites.google.com/site/ecotourismpedrosanchez/) Prices range from US$ 26-36 per person
