Case Romane or Case Romane del Celio is one of the best preserved Roman villas that can be visited today. It is located close to the Circus Maximus and can be reached by foot. The villa which was built in the third century A.D. was inhabited all the way until the 13th century and is filled with rich frescoes covering all 20 rooms. When you visit the Villa, you'll be guided to write underneath the Basilica of SS. Giovanni e Paolo. you'll need about two hours to visit the place.

It also has a beautiful little Museum inside and all rooms have a nice little description to them.

The entire presentation is very beautiful and you get a really good idea of how these ancient dwellings used to look.
