Chinatown was established during the British colonial rule in the  Petaling area. This was a place that was built at that time for the Chinese community. Even now this is a great place to know more and understand about the Chinese community. However this is a great place to get souvenirs and other small items such as incense, gem stones and traditional Chinese medications which are known to cure many illnesses are very popular area.

A tip here is to try the various local Chinese cuisines and delicacies that are sold here at Chinatown. This is a great place to try the local authentic Chinese food and at the same time mingle with the local people. You may even sit down and have your food while having a friendly conversation with the locals at the eateries in Chinatown.
