Ghadames Travel guide

The city of Ghadames is situated around 360 meters (which is around 1170 feet) above sea level. The city hardly experiences rain or snow and this is the major reason for the hot temperatures throughout the year. The maximum temperature touches 41 degree Celsius in July, which is the hottest month. The older section of Ghadames has been tagged World Heritage site by UNESCO due to its historical richness. Around 7 clans lived here and each of them used to possess its own district, with its own public place where various festivals were regularly organized.
