Situated in Sunrise Manor CDP, quite near to Las Vegas, Nevada, this temple sits over 4.2 ha (10.3 acres) at the very base of the Frenchman Mountain or the Sunrise Mountain. A very groundbreaking site dedication and ceremony for the amazing temple were actually held in the November of 1985. Gordon B. Hinckley, who was then a counselor of the church’s First Presidency, presided over and gave enriching dedication prayer. Then the construction of the temple began quite soon after this ceremony was conducted.
The Mormon temple got open for the public to tour so that they can get to know more about it between the time span of November 16 to December 9, 1989. Over 300,000 people toured the temple along with its great grounds extensively during the period of these three blissful weeks. This temple is an exquisite piece of architecture and has 6 spires. The highest of the spires stands 119 feet or say 36 m high. The exterior of the temple is white finished made of pre cast stone walls along with a roof of copper. having 192 rooms in all, the temple has 4 ordinance rooms, 6 sealing rooms, one Celestial room, one baptismal font along with great many other facilities in order to meet and fulfill the requirements, purposes and the needs of the temple.
