Billings Nightlife, Montana

Billings or 'The Magic City', named this way for its fast development during the late 19th century, becomes even more magical at nightfall. Billings’ nightlife has a lot to offer, from noisy social bars to sophisticated restaurants, not to mention a wide range of cultural events.

Billings Nightlife - Restaurants

As sightseeing generates hunger, you will probably want to start your night out with a hearty dinner. Billings’ numerous restaurants are sure to satisfy all tastes, no matter how international or local your appetite feels like. Nevertheless, there are several locally owned restaurants that are acclaimed by both locals and visitors. Some of them offer American dishes, decent prices and an authentic atmosphere, like George Henry’s Restaurant, The Rex or The Granary.

For a more formal atmosphere and sophisticated, international dishes, you may want to try Juliano’s, one of the best upscale restaurants in town. On the other hand, you can go to one of the less expensive restaurants, specialized in different world cuisines: Athenian Greek Restaurant, Bruno’s Pasta & Pizza, Sweet Ginger or Walker’s Grill.

If fancy food is not what you’re looking for, you can as well choose some other popular spots as Enzo Bistro, the historic, Art-Deco style Club Carlin (dance and live music included) or the more bohemian, student-frequented Café Jones. (like Missoula Nightlife or Bozeman Nightlife, Billings nightlife is intensely animated, which is typical for a college city)

Billings Nightlife – Bars and pubs

There is a great variety of bars and pubs where you can continue your escapade into Billings’ nightlife. For a better taste, you can combine any of the following varieties: drinking bars (Montana Chads, Rainbow, Pepper’s, Buck’s Bar, Monte Carlo), sports bars (Fiddlers Green, Winners Circle, Shooters), music bars (Railyard, Wild West Saloon), social bars (The Rock Pile, Moose Breath Saloon, 12th Planet, Surfer Joe’s), poker bars (Crystal Lounge, Tinsel Town Casino). Montana Brewing Company is present in Billings as well, but there are several other breweries that have tasting rooms, like Carter’s Brewery, Yellowstone Valley Brewing Company and Angry Hank’s.

Billings Nightlife – Cultural Activities

For those who prefer cultural activities to socializing, Billings offers a wide range of options. As the most important cultural centre within hundreds of miles, Billings has three major theatre companies: Alberta Bair Theater, Billings Studio Theater and Venture Theater. These institutions are hosting annual events, concerts, live comedy shows as well as their own productions, theater plays and musicals. Classical music can be enjoyed at Rimrock Opera and Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale. Cinemas include Amusement Parks Drive In, Carmike 7 Cinema and Carmike Wynnsong 10.
