Athens is a beautiful city located in the state of Georgia, 76 miles from Augusta and 87 miles from Macon, housing the University of Georgia, the first state university in the country.

The city is set in a specific mountain foothills area called piedmont and its general landscape is dominated by low hills and large agricultural surfaces.
