Sarasota Nightlife, Florida

Sarasota, Florida, is well-known among tourist-circles for its stunning white beaches, its tranquil waters and aquatic life, its golf courses and its rich culture. However, if that sends you a wrong signal as to what to do with your nights, then you must know that Sarasota nightlife promises you more-than-enough engagement and entertainment. Sarasota nightlife may not have the attractions of a Miami or an Orlando nightlife, but that does not make your nights a jot less interesting. Sarasota nightlife hot-spots are mostly to be found by the quayside, but like the other Florida cities of Fort Lauderdale, Naples and the rest, Sarasota downtown has a vibrant nightlife scene with its restaurants, bars, nightclubs and other live performance venues. Do whatever you like – enjoy a quiet dinner with your soul-mate over some soul-stirring music at one of the classy restaurants or dance to your heart’s content with your bunch of college-buddies, catch a live ballet show all by yourself or enjoy your drink over some conversation – your Sarasota nightlife experience will be a memorable one.

Sarasota Nightlife – Bars/Pubs and Eateries

We will start with Daiquiri Deck. Located in the beautiful setting of the Siesta Key, Daiquiri Deck is famous for the different daiquiri flavors served at its open-air bar; the food is really good. Ophelia’s On The Bay will be a good choice if you prefer privacy; eat, drink and enjoy your intimate moments. The Back Room Saloon is a lounge-cum-sports-bar that offers full menu and different drinks like beer, wine and liquors; the bar has two satellite televisions and even arranges live musical entertainment. And while you are still in Siesta Key, you can also check The Old Salty Dog; you will like their selection of British-ales as much as you will like the outdoor dining arrangement (patio/terrace).

Your choices in mainland Sarasota can be Gecko’s Grill & Pub, Mattison’s City Grill or Rustic Grill. While Gecko’s Grill & Pub and Rusty Rudder Tavern & Grill are more famous for their American /local flavors and food, Mattison’s City Grill, located on the Main Street, brings to you Italian-fare. Patrick’s is yet another well-known Main Street sports bar. The Memories Lounge is one of the cheapest by Sarasota-standards.

Sarasota Nightlife – Nightclubs and Other Venues

Speaking of Sarasota’s nightclubs, the first one to be named is certainly The Gator. The Gator pleases you with its décor and ambiance as much as it does with its different single-malt Scotch. The club occupies two stories of a grand old building – while there is a standard bar and a small dance-floor downstairs, the upper-floor has a more relaxed setting for friendly gatherings over a drink. In Extremis will promise you a wild night out. Then, there is Cha Cha Coconuts, the Caribbean-style club with its lively music and its excellent pub food. The 5 o’clock club will be an altogether different experience just as Le Barge will be.

Sarasota nightlife also means other things and so you can watch a nice movie at Burns Court Cinema, catch a live ballet show at Sarasota Ballet of Florida or a concert at Octave.
