Not a very big resort, SolVista is located 15 miles north of Winter Park and 2 two miles south of Granby, two towns that beautifully complete the resort in the sense that whatever you won’t find in Sol Vista you are sure to find in these two lovely little towns offering a great number of outdoor and recreational activities. There are all kinds of necessary conveniences from banks and medical services to florists and grocery stores.

Comprised of two separate but interconnected mountains, the resort is known as a full service mountain community and a great place for learning to ski and snowboard having the Accelerated Learning Center as a reference point.

One of the things that delimitate SolVista from the other Colorado resorts is the special teaching technique that involves direct-to-parallel teaching that emphasizes the coordination of body movements with the shaped ski technology. Some years ago the resort was not famous for being a fun place to spend your skiing holiday as there weren’t many fun runs and it also lacked diversity. Things have changed a bit since then but the fact that the resort is not aimed at adventure seekers remains. Still since the Accelerated Learning Center was founded winter sports enthusiasts seem more pleased with the facilities offered.

The information office and the administrative office are to be found at The Base Lodge that also has all the required amenities. It is the place to come for all kinds of info and to have a nice meal at its restaurant. For first aid you should head east of Base Lodge to the Ski Patrol building. there is also the Ski In / Ski Out Chalet that offers direct access to the slopes as the ski lift is just steps away.

The resort remained a quiet place best known for its stress-free atmosphere and mostly oriented towards the beginners who might find the place perfect for a first day on skies. And there are those who come here for being in the mountains for a bit of fresh air and relax in a resort with no hassles of traffic to and from the ski area and friendly staff on and off the mountain. You won’t have to rub shoulders with other skiers and snowboarders, there’s plenty of space and powder for everyone. And what’s best is that you can have it all at an affordable price. So for all those who appreciate a quiet and uncrowded ski resort, SolVista is the answer.

SolVista has terrain fit for all levels but it mostly aims at beginners and intermediate levels lacking the adventurous trails for the expert skiers. So if you’re looking for adrenaline, SolVista is not quite the place to be.

If you want more action there’s Grandby Ranch and Winter Park focuses on both recreation and relaxation with just as beautiful scenery and plenty of activities all year round. They are prime locations for families, groups and all those eager to leave life's beaten path in search of a unique summer vacation. The activities range from fishing to hiking and biking and the trails are extensive.
