Loveland Ski Area is located in Georgetown, Colorado and it is Colorado's closest ski area to Denver. You’ll find it on the Continental Divide just 53 miles located just 53 miles from Denver and it straddles both sides of the pass at the Eisenhower Tunnel in the Arapaho National Forest.
Situated atop the Continental Divide, Loveland Ski Area is one of Colorado's highest ski areas, being the first to get snow in winter – it gets an average of 400 inches of crisp, Rocky Mountain snow each year- and making it possible for the ski area to open first every season.
What’s best is that it doesn’t take much to get here, it is easily accessible. Parking is free and it is on the way to everything weather you are travelling east or west and you can enjoy snow as long as you want, be it for the whole season if you have time for it. It is the perfect place to come with your family and friends, to bond with them and to create memories that will last for a lifetime. The service is excellent and fun is guaranteed.
Loveland Ski Area is the tenth largest ski resort in Colorado and has gained a reputation as a ski area for locals as it has not developed in a huge tourist oriented resort, it is more activity oriented and it does not have a chic town nearby, but it’s a charming, mountain village bustling with and excitement all season long. Being more a resort for the common people the prices are acceptable, but nonetheless the area is dedicated to providing a quality skiing experience for a reasonable price.
Improvements have been made in the last period and now you can have free Wi-Fi access in the lodge area so you’ll easily check your email or work on a project in an activity break.
Loveland can keep you active all day long with plenty of facilities like two dozen city parks, a mountain park, three golf courses, hiking trails and much more. This mountain offers it all!
Loveland is made up of two ski areas Loveland Basin and Loveland Valley which are linked by a long, horizontal lift and a shuttle bus. The first has 901 acres terrain for all abilities, five chairs and a Poma lift and the second area has two lifts and 67 acres gentle separate terrain for beginners who can learn undisturbed by more advanced skiers. In all Loveland boasts tons of terrain just for you with prime powder, well-groomed runs and bowls, all at a small price that is 1,365 acres and 71 ski trails served by 11 lifts. It is easy to learn how to ski with skilled, friendly and gentle instructors that use PSIA/AASI recommended teaching standards.
Intermediate skier will find Loveland terrain just perfect while advanced skiers who are not afraid of heights and enjoy a blizzard of heart-pumping black diamonds should check out Avalanche Bowl and other fun stuff.
Being one of the most complete family ski areas around, parents can have some time for themselves while their children are well looked after at the Loveland Child Care Center licensed facility. Kids will have a great time, too as the kids programs boasts age appropriate arts, crafts, indoor and outdoor play, different downhill and snowboard programs all in kids friendly environment. One of them is Three-Class Pass offering a FREE season pass after completing three beginner lesson packages. It’s definitely worth attending the class as ski instruction is fantastic with all-day supervision, lesson, lunch and a progress card.
Other recreational activities are also available. There’re an a number of sport shops where you’ll find latest skis and clothing, you can go on a Foundry Tour, go east of downtown Loveland to the Boyd Lake State Park, one of the largest lakes in the northern Front Range boasting picnic areas, a paved walking/biking trail, a children's playground and summer activities like water sports, fishing, swimming and wildlife watching.
With plenty of activities for both winter and summer, Loveland guarantees good time at a reasonable price.
