Moreno Valley History, California

History of Moreno valley is divided into different phases and they are mentionedbriefly below in the chronological order.

Moreno valley was primarily inherited by the Native Americans residing in the Shoshone tribes. They were the hunter gatherers and they blazed a large number of trails like the Anza and cuts through the area of Edgemont of today’s Moreno valley. Hardly any attention was paid to relatively arid terrain of the Moreno valley.

In 1850, US settlement began to move in the Moreno valley and Overland Mail Company owned by John Butterfield passed through this city. Also, community of farmers settled here and occupied a large area of square meter. For water requirements the entire city was completely dependent upon Bear Valley Land as well as Bear Valley located at mountains of San Bernardino. In the year 1899, the Redlands won law case in the court and as the aftermath they were given the whole domain of bear valley water. This resultant loss of water service forced majority of the inhabitants to move from the place. In that phase of time, its name was changed to “Moreno valley”.   

The complete revival of the city actively began during 1918 when the US air force constructed the March field on the border of the riverside as an important part of its expansion of World War 1. Fighter pilots were used to be trained on this terrain but later on in the year 1927, it emerged as the full fledged air force base.

From 1957 to the year 1989, raceway of riverside international had occupied the site of the Moreno valley and it became one of the,most prominent locations for different activities like NHRA drag racing, AMA motor cycle racing and NASCAR among others.

Moreno valley had witnessed new age development and progress since 1980. The valley was being transferred into a world class city where new houses as well as businesses were established. This growth paved the wave for incorporation and a measure to incorporate the Moreno valley as city was nodded by the voters in the year 1984. Following this the communities of sunny mead, Moreno and Edgemont were incorporated on 3 December 1984 and eventually la city was established. Then a range of activities took place like formation of first city council, motto and city seal.  

Since 1990, this city has witnessed population explosion and has become home to world’s second largest populated city.
