An essential civic inoculation of the epoch was the Leslie Coombs Brand, who formed an estate called as El Mirandero in 1904 featuring an attention-grabbing mansion whose structural design combined distinctiveness of Moorish, Indian and Spanish styles. These styles are highly inspired from 1893 East Indian Pavilion, at the Columbian World Exposition organized in Chicago that he visited. In 1919, Brand further made a secretive airstrip and launched fly in social gathering, offering a straight link to the shortly to be made close to the Grand Central Airport. Brand also collaborated along Henry E. Huntington for bringing red cars or the pacific electric railway to the district.
