Santa Cruz houses some of the best museums in the Canary Islands. These museums are considered the center of cultural sights.

Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre. The museum’s importance lies in the artifacts housed within its walls. Some of the most significant pre-Spanish relics that were dug in the Canary Islands are exhibited in this museum.

Centro de Fotografia. The museum offers a collection of excellent, appealing and fascinating photographs. Some of the exhibits include digital and video art. The highlight of the museum is the annual Foto Noviembre exhibition.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife Sights – City Symbols

Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s City Symbols are a group of manmade landmarks which are eye-catching because of their architectural designs. The art of the construction of these symbols is very striking and appealing.

Auditorio de Tenerife. This auditorium was built in 2003 and was designed by Santiago Calatrava, an award-winning architect from Valencia. The structure of the auditorium is similar to sails having white blue rollers. This look is very popular to tourists making the landmark one of the most photographed buildings.

Centro de Internacional de Ferias y Congresos de Tenerife. Also called as The Fair Recint, this city symbol was opened in May 1996 and was also designed by Santiago Calatrava. It is used for most important fairs, exhibitions and conferences. The complex has three zones namely the Great Hall, the Zocalo Building, and the Annex Building.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife Sights – Parks and Recreational Sites

The province of Tenerife is known for its collection of beaches and Santa Cruz is no stranger to these recreational sites. Apart from this, tourists can also take advantage of the beautiful parks included in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Sights.

Parque Rural de Anaga. This natural park is located near Macizo de Anaga (one of the sights in Santa Cruz) and was classified in 1994. While there, tourists can also visit the famous Macizo de Anaga.

Las Gaviotas. This small beach is known for its black sand and it is very famous with the young visitors and the naturalists. Near this beach is another one called the Playa Chica. Las Gaviotas serve English food.

Las Teresitas. If Las Gaviotas is known as a black-sand beach, Las Teresitas is known as the only white sand beach in the whole province of Tenerife. Truth is, this site is an artificial beach whose sand was shipped from the Sahara desert. Big waves are not a problem for those who are not into them, so children will find this place enjoyable.
