The city of Incheon expands over an area of around 965 kilometer square and is a port city on the western coast of South Korea. Many times the city of Incheon is considered to be the metropolitan area for Seoul as it is located in the proximity of Seoul. Although one should understand that both are different cities with their own jurisdiction.
The government of Incheon has been working hard to give it a shape which will be appreciated by the International community. This is why the local government has tried its best to make every inhabitant of Incheon learn English. This way more and more foreign trade will enter the country and this will help this city to grow economically. It was during February 2007 when the city of Incheon declared that they were an English City as by then most of the locals were well aware of English. As the only language which is common amongst all countries of this planet is English hence it becomes necessary for the locals of any city to be very well aware of this language so that foreigner traders feel at home when they enter the city!
There are three universities in Incheon namely University of Incheon, Inha University, and Gyeongin National University of Education. Along with this there are 5 good quality educational institutions which regularly produce a breed of educated citizens.
Slowly the city of Incheon has started to earn recognition on the international front with many international level programs about to be hosted by this city itself. The Global Fair & Festival is all set to be organized in the Songdo District of Incheon somewhere in August 2009. It will be a 80 day long event with many national and international participants. Then the Asian Games of year 2014 will be organized in this city itself. Hence soon Incheon will show its presence on the international level.
The temperature hardly ever crosses the bearable limits thus making it a very comfortable atmosphere for the locals to enjoy. There are 4 different seasons and the temperature rise and fall is as per the current season. The city of Incheon regularly experiences seasonal winds which help to keep the climate mild throughout the year.
