As East London has grown through the years to become a tourist hotspot, many additions have been made to add to the bustling nightlife of the city. Anything from bars and pubs to dance clubs, to theaters of all different kinds, as well as the common tourist attractions, have shown up on the map. Whether you want to go out dancing or just mingle with the locals, there are plenty of places to find some excitement during the late hours of your stay in East London.

Nightclubs are very common among the activities you can partake in while you are in the area. Most of the nightclubs in the city are open to teenagers under eighteen. Those that are adult clubs can only be looked up on the internet. Several of these nightclubs have great locations right along the beach so you can dance at the edge of the water. Each club plays a different style of music and hosts different musicians nightly, giving you the chance to add some variety to your regular dance routine.

Bars and pubs are favored by the locals. Many of the bars have alcoholic beverages unique to this region of Africa. This means you can taste some new brew, and possibly even meet a few of the local residents, who are often willing to share a story or two about the area. If you are interested in learning about the town from the people who inhabit it, the nearest bar is a great place to hang out. Even if you aren’t much into drinking with the locals, there are many pool halls where you can engage yourself in games with them, and perhaps make a few friends. If pool is not your game, there has been a recent increase in the number of casinos in the area, offering all kinds of games throughout the day and night.

The theaters in the area are numerous and provide a lot of variety in entertainment. Some of the theaters are run by specific troupes performing plays of the region. There are several large cinema theaters playing movies from South Africa and the rest of the world. And yet, some theaters are home to local musicians playing concerts. The most prominent of the theaters can be found online as well, usually with a list of upcoming attractions and acts that you can see.
