Singapore Nightlife, Singapore

Singapore, the island nation is located on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. It is the sixth wealthiest nation of the world according to its per capita GDP. Thus, the standard of living of the people is very high. Its population is around 4.59 million, with ethnic Chinese forming the major part. English is the chief language of the country.

The executives of the nation believe in work hard and party harder. Hence, after the work hours, the city awakens to the glittering nightlife. Pubbing and clubbing when combined with the nightlife gives a complete picture of the city. The bars and pubs have mushroomed all over the city in the past decade. Chinese Godowns playing pulsating Rock, Buddhist temple styled interiors are some of the recent innovations made to enhance the clubbing scene.

The city offers a golden triangle of nightspots i.e., from Zouk—Mohammad Sultan—Boat Quay. All these are at short distance from each other. Since, drinks are pretty expensive in the city, there are happy hours which provide deep discounts and also certain weekdays play certain music themes or dances. Wednesdays in most of the clubs is the ladies night out.

Boat Quay, one of the quadrants of golden triangle, is pearled all over with restaurants and pubs, so the mood is more laid back and leisurely.

Mohammad Sultan Road, one of the back alleys has been transmuted into an artery where the throbbing music flows like uninterrupted blood. Many of the bars in the area, boasts of the Old Shanghai type of interiors.

Zouk is one the most popular clubs of Singapore which attracts hugely popular artists like Galliano, Heart and Kylie Minogue. It plays mostly house music which is spun by its seven resident DJs. The description of Singapore’s night life is incomplete without the mention of the Long Bar, which is housed in the historic Raffles Hotel. It has a classy décor, where old world drinks add to the charm. Apart from these, night shopping at Mustafa Center is possible all 24 hours. Night Safari of Singapore Zoo is another unique night attraction offered.

China Jump is another interesting hangout, wherein the diners have to jump through the cubby holes to get to their tables from where they can see the dance floor. The mood here is very relaxed. Brewerkz on Merchant Road is a heaven for beer guzzlers in Singapore. This, brewery and restaurant provides visitors with world class quality beers to try.

Lastly, most of the cinema houses in the city, offer very late night shows which go through the early morning hours which will certainly give a complete night out.
