Sights within the city: In the main city, you can visit Qasr Ibrahim (Al Qabbah) built by Ottoman governor Ali Ibn Ahmed Ibn Lawand Al- Burayki, in 963, and is place to be visited for getting an insight of military and Islamic architecture. In addition, the mosque built in the fort (Qasr) is a construction marvel having a single large dome with special architectural beauty.

You should also visit the Souq Seiq which is the largest gold and textile market place and also known for its gift collection for women. You can also visit the Hofuf Local Museum built near the Education Department which hosts a collection that stands as proof of the city’s cultural richness including the folklore exhibit hall, antiques etc. When you start to travel outside the city you can see the date palm trees imparting an exquisite look to the sprawling greenery.

Sights Out Of City: You can visit the oldest operational salt mine in Abqaiq near Al Hofuf which is nearly 5000 years old. Another place of sightseeing is Al Uqair, the old port through which Arabs traded with Mesopotamia and India. The ruins of the houses and other buildings still remain there as memories of the old trading center.

Jabel Al Qarah is the cave system, precisely called pottery caves, which are very complex cave systems of calcareous sand. They are very linear cave passages with narrow canyons. It is a must visit sight of geological marvel.
