San Marino, Sights – General Presentation

Am European microstate, San Marino is a country surrounded by the Apennine Mountains and by Italy. It represents the oldest constitutional republic in the world. Its capital is also called San Marino, being situated near the Adriatic Sea. San Marino is the third largest city in the country, but it attracts three million tourists annually. It has been named after the saint that it is said to have first lived in this area and its inhabitants put much emphasis on the religious aspect of their lives.

San Marino, Sights – Main Points of Attraction

Although it is a small city, San Marino Sights are well known for the beautiful tourist attractions they have to offer to its visitors. In your first day here, you should begin your discovery of this amazing culture with a walk on the path to the Fortress. Once arrived there, unique towers and stone walls will welcome you to come closer and admire the beautiful view that opens up. An extraordinary landscape with the crowded city down, the high mountains behind and the immense ocean on the horizon line will mesmerize you. Due to its beautiful fortress that dominates the entire image of the town, San Marion has the aspect of a medieval town. A really entertaining festival is the Medieval Days with Antique Crossbow Competition, which brings back the medieval days for those who wish to have been born in those times. The municipality also organizes a lot of concerts and shows so as to keep its inhabitants and visitors relaxed and happy.
