Some of the well-known travel destinations and landmarks in Sukkur include the following.

Sukkur Barrage

It is one of the biggest barrages in Pakistan. It was built over the Indus River in the British Raj. It was built in to help alleviate famines. It is one of the biggest manmade structures in Pakistan. A big network of canals originated from Sukkur barrage is feeding more than 5 million acres of land.

Sucker Barrage is regarded as one of the best tourist attractions in Sucker. Guided visits can be arranged over the barrage with permission. Sukkur Barrage also features a museum known as Sukkur Barrage Museum. The museum provides all types of information related to Sukkur Barrage.

Clock Tower

Clock Tower is located in the Ganta Ghar chowk Sukkur. If you plan to explore Sukkur, Clock Tower should be your starting point. It is linked with the main bazaars of the city. From the clock tower, you can also view the minarets of Masoom Shah Jo Munaro. Indus River is located only a few kilometers away and you can have a wonderful view of the river. There is a famous minaret which was built by Knight Masoom Shah.

Sukkur Temples

A few miles away from Sukkur there are a couple of Hindus Temples of Kali Mata and Durga. According to the Hindu belief, Kali Mata stayed here a long time ago. Every year a large number of Hindus gather here to perform their rituals.

The Ruins of the City of Aror

Ruins of the City Aror are one of the historical places located few miles away from Sukkur. A famous Arab Conqueror, Muhammad Bin Qasim stayed here. During his stay, he built a famous mosque. The mosque reflects great the architectural work of that time.

MOEN JO DARO

It is a great site that reflects the Indus civilization and culture of 3000 BC. According to the archeologists, Indus civilizations was one of the most advanced cultures in the history of the Subcontinent. Touring Moen Jo Daro requires almost half day. Moen Jo Daro also features an old museum that displays the collectibles and antiques of pre historic times. Guided tours can be arranged from Sukkur for Moen Jo Daro and Harappa.
