The numerous beautiful sights of Karachi
Karachi is the largest and the financial capital of Pakistan. It spreads over 3530 sq. km. to offer lots of sights for tourists to visit. This includes visits to historical, colonial structures, museums, parks and beach fronts.
You have to visit Mazar-e-Quaid, the memorial tomb of founder and first president of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah when in Karachi. Don’t forget visits also to the famous Mohatta Palace and Museum, Karachi Port Authority’s Water Jet fountain, Lady Lloyd pier of Bin Qasim Park and the Aga Khan University hospital.
Beach fronts, an important part of Karachi
Another of the many famous tourist attractions is the Masjid e Tooba, which is famous for being the largest single-domed mosque found in the world. With a large sea front, there are many beach fronts worth visiting when in Karachi, where the climate is pleasant the year through.
Examples are the Clifton Beach, Jehangir Kothari parade, Beach Park and the Hawke’s Bay Beach where you get to see endangered turtles. Paradise Point is the place where you can view a natural arch in the beach while French, Russian and Sandspit Beaches are places to visit for its scenic beauty and beach activities.
The French beach is actually a small village that is surrounded by a boundary wall, and 20 huts that you can hire. This is a perfect snorkeling location with the rocky beach and clear blue water. If required, you can also hire boats to take scuba diving when in Karachi.
Museums are worth visiting in Karachi
Museums are found aplenty in Karachi like the Pakistan Air Force Museum, PIA Planetarium, Karachi Expo Center, Karachi Stock Exchange Building, Pakistan Maritime Museum and the National Museum of Pakistan.
While catching up on Karachi sights, you will get to see the huge edifices, speaking of the British colonial empire that once flourished here. Other structures worth visiting while in Karachi are City Court Building, Central Jail, Empress Market, Government House, Hindu Gymkhana, DJ Science College and Imperial Customs House.
Visit Karachi through organized tours
There are various options for you to take to visit these tourist attractions. You can either use public transport or rental cars for taking tours around Karachi. However this is advisable only if you are well versed with the language or roads of Karachi.
Another option is to take one of the many organized packages organized by hotels and travel agencies which cover most of Karachi. It is up to you to choose depending on your travel itinerary, your budget and the places you are most interested in visiting.
