The district is situated on the Kaduna River a tributary of the Niger River, in the north of Nigeria, 120 miles from Kano and 105 from Abuja, with a total area surface of 3,080 km2.
Kaduna`s climate is tropical continental with equatorial maritime air masses. The fluctuation between cool to hot and humid to wet is a common event in this area, furthermore, the average temperature is 23 degrees Celsius. Because of the tropical climate, rainy season ‘feels at home’ here, the rain starts usually in May and ends in October.

The beauty of Kaduna’s nature is immeasurable, including magnificent flora and fauna species. There are different types of vegetation, which can be categorized in coastal mangroves, deltaic swamp forest, swamp forest and wooded savanna.
Bananas, cocoa, pineapple, palm, orange and mango crops are present in the forest, while in arid savanna and other areas grow cereals like maize, rice, soybeans and vegetables like peppers, potatoes, carrots.
Regarding the animals, savanna area is rich in dwarf goats, sheep and Ndama cattle.

Kaduna’s roads need to be mended over and over again, especially because the city is an important commercial and industrial base in Nigeria. The town has a railway station and two airports, Kaduna Airport being the newest, yet with a single terminal.

Regarding the economy, a considerably increasing is felt, thanks to the textile industry, aluminum, machinery, steel and petroleum products. Kaduna`s soil is very rich in minerals, and gold, all this being good sources for the town`s income.

In Kaduna, the local cuisine boasts in Nigerian delicacies but also in influences from other places. Visitors can enjoy various snacks and drinks for all budgets, street food and eateries are also very famous and expensive here.
One of the local delicacies is DANBUN Naman Kazaa, having as basic ingredients cooked or fried chicken, peanut oil, onion, tattasai, ataguru, cubes of seasoning, salt and water. It is also perfect for long journeys.
However, the most famous dish in Kaduna is Kilishi, prepared from beef, peanut powder, peanut oil, spices and salt blocks, this dish being really rich in protein.
