Kuwait city, Kuwait – Overview: Modern city of the Middle East

Kuwait city is the capital of Kuwait. Naturally, it holds many offices of importance. This city includes government offices and bureaucratic chambers. This port on Kuwait bay is also known as Al Kuwait. Oil wealth is attributable to making the city one of the most modern ones in the entire Middle East. Kuwait CIty is located proximally to the Persian Gulf right at the centre of Kuwait.

Climate

The Climate of Kuwait City is hot and dry for most part of the year. The aridness is attributable to the desert influence, which is prevalent in the city. Rainfall can be anything between negligible to sparse. Temperatures can even soar beyond 40 degrees in the month of May and June. In those cases, desert oasis becomes a delight for tourists.

People

40 percent of people are indigenous in Kuwait City. Foreigners in the city are mainly from Iran. Even the Bangladeshi and Pakistani immigrants are not sparse. People, here, mainly work for the carpet or oil based industries. They also have great inclination towards hospitality industry and this is why hotels are a booming field. Kuwaiti people make great concierge staffs. People were shell-shocked during the Gulf War and some of the scars are still there.

Culture

Because the Kuwaitis were never ruled, they have been able to independently assimilate cultures and proceed along. Family based organization have done well and provided grounds for the society in general to succeed. This is why clan based networks are predominant in the area. Beautiful countryside of the Persian Gulf is a testimony to the cultural fiber of Kuwait city. The place buzzes with ethnic festivals. People are easy going and want to mix fun with work.

Economy

Economy of Kuwait City is mainly based on oil. The oil fields are changing hands and the city is gearing up to be the next Dubai.

The prospering economy of Kuwait City has brought forth many hotels and still others are in the pipeline. Rich bureaucrats and business tycoons are looking forward to creating a lot of elite class hospitality options for the tourists coming to this wonderful city.

Transportation

Kuwait international airport is its air link to the world. It truly is an avant garde airport for Kuwait City. Shuwaik port and Ahmadi port in the Persian Gulf mark the sea connecting routes of this capital city.

In spite of what it went through during the Gulf War, Kuwait City still continues to maintain its pride and thus, the tag of ‘Modern City of the Middle East’ is totally appropriate.
